/ WIPES
Conceptual, Editorial & Packaging Design

The main focus of “/ WIPES” is to promote the Conqueror 100% Recycled range of paper from Antalis Singapore.
I crafted a deliverable form of tissue box that when sent to the viewer, would seem as any normal looking tissue box. However when opened, the viewer would discover that the tissue box dispenses paper instead. There are a total of 6 pieces of paper inside—5 of which are the different types within the Conquerer 100% Recycled range. The idea behind the tissue box is to imply that people often use functional items without reconsidering the source, or where the items end up after disposal and as a result, tend to waste things as a habit.

The forward slash or “/” is a typographical representation of the action of wiping. It is used as a metaphor for clearing one’s state of mind—to get rid of the notion that recycled paper is inferior to that of normally produced paper. The “/” is also a clear indication of moving forth, or moving to the right; “right” here once again is used as a metaphor to indicate doing the right thing, and taking a step in the positive direction.
